An eclectic cabin on a secluded wooded lot is ideal for your private mountain getaway. A close drive to walk-in access to the Dolly Sods wilderness and Canaan Valley National Wildlife refuge and an easy drive to the Whitegrass Touring Center, with world-renowned cross-country skiing on 50 km of maintained trails, and nearby to the Canaan Valley Ski Resort. Also, guests have full access privileges for all Timberline lakes.

A private, gated community located in beautiful Canaan Valley. You have access to both Spruce Island Lake and Sand Run Lake in Timberline to canoe and fish at (swimming prohibited by the HOA) and access to the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area.
You will be staying in a private, gated community. Please have a list of everyone that will be staying in the house (first & last names) and vehicle information. A guard house form will be given to you at check-in for you to put the information on that you will give to the guards.

I've spent a lot of time in Canaan Valley over the years - mostly skiing in the winter. Spending an extended time period there in the summer was amazing. The house was clean, set in a relaxing wooded location, and provided excellent access to local trails for hiking and mt. biking. I definitely plan to rent it again.

great proximity to the trails and town
and just a 3.5 hour drive from my house in dc
we spent more time on the back deck than in the house
although we did not use the hot tub... I bet that would be a joy after a day on the mountain...

It was a great cozy house with an amazing Sunset over the back deck minutes away from the slopes. The wood fireplaces are really efficient and heat of the place pretty fast. The hot tub was also in excellent working condition which was great to have after long days of boarding not to mention the sunset off the back deck.

We absolutely loved our stay. We enjoyed it very much and we even loved the snow! The only complaint is that the house had a very musty smell, we brought our own candles and air fresheners that we frequently used throughout the entire trip. the kitchen was perfect size for the two of us to get meals prepared and the bed we slept in was very comfy and the blankets were very nice and provided plenty of warmth for how much the temperature dropped over the weekend. Wifi was fast and reliable and we had no trouble with our vehicle getting sound the resort.Replace light bulbs in the lamps and overhead lights because we had 4 blow in the first night, I'd also maybe invest in more lighting.

This is a wonderful place to stay - extremely comfortable in a gorgeous wooded community. The kids and I loved the hot tub and spent much time in it. It is very big with lots of room for extended family and friends. And super close to the state park and ski area. Highly recommended!

Property is deceptively spacious with lots of bathrooms and bedrooms. Great views of woods and mountains, especially from wrap-around deck. Hot tub is beautifully situated and very comfortable. This was a wonderful place to relax with family and had lots of fun outdoor activities within a close drive of the property.

We've enjoyed several visits to this house, in fall and winter, and always have a wonderful time. While the cabin does not look that large from the outside, it fits 3 families of 4 together at once. The two levels make it possible for the kids to hang out together downstairs, play ping pong or other games, watch Netflix, etc. while adults have their own space upstairs. It's a perfect retreat in the woods for getting away from the hussle and bussle of day to day life. Lots to do in the area with skiing, hiking, horseback riding, galleries in Thomas. Every time we come, we discover new activities.

There was a small issue with the hot water heater at the beginning of our stay, but the owner of the property immediately contacted someone to come and fix it within just a few hours!

It was fantastic! I had one of my best vacations ever due to the beautiful property in which we were able to stay. The location is amazing and the house itself is beautiful!! We had a great time and I would highly recommend staying here! The best feature was definitely the location. The property is in a gorgeous area of West Virginia and was the perfect spot for a peaceful vacation! It was quiet without being too remote and the house was great for relaxing and spending time with friends or family. The property specifically had amazing features such as a hot tub and a balcony overlooking the forest behind the house. My friends and I really enjoyed using the space to spend time together!
