Nestled in the mountains, Lazy Bear is a spacious and inviting retreat designed for families and groups to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the great outdoors. With room for up to 12 guests, this comfortable home offers a great mix of gathering spaces and private bedrooms spread across two levels.
On the main floor, the open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area welcomes you with a wood-burning fireplace—perfect for cozy evenings after a day of adventure. The kitchen is fully equipped and features both a Keurig and standard drip coffee maker for your morning brew. This level also includes three bedrooms: one with a King bed, one with a Queen, and one with a Twin plus a Bunk with Trundle, along with two shared hall baths.
Head downstairs to the walk-out basement, where you’ll find a rec room with ping-pong table, great for friendly competition. This level also includes two King bedrooms, one with an en suite bath, plus a shared hall bath and laundry area for added convenience.
Step outside to take in the fresh mountain air and fire up the charcoal grill for a casual cookout. With WiFi, ample space, and a comfortable mountain-lodge feel, Lazy Bear is a great choice for families, friends, or anyone looking to unwind in the Canaan Valley area.

A private, gated community located in beautiful Canaan Valley. You have access to both Spruce Island Lake and Sand Run Lake in Timberline to canoe and fish at (swimming prohibited by the HOA) and access to the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area.
You will be staying in a private, gated community. Please have a list of everyone that will be staying in the house (first & last names) and vehicle information. A guard house form will be given to you at check-in for you to put the information on that you will give to the guards.
