A private, gated community located in beautiful Canaan Valley. You have access to both Spruce Island Lake and Sand Run Lake in Timberline to canoe and fish at (swimming prohibited by the HOA) and access to the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area.
You will be staying in a private, gated community. Please have a list of everyone that will be staying in the house (first & last names) and vehicle information. A guard house form will be given to you at check-in for you to put the information on that you will give to the guards.

Dreamcatcher was the perfect place for a peaceful Thanksgiving vacation for our family of 6. It was such a perfect cabin in the woods getaway. We loved everything about it and we hope to return in the future. We loved Dreamcatcher! We loved the fireplace, , the log cabin feel, the openness, the bathrooms and bedrooms were perfect for our family of 6 as well as the large dining table. The extra room upstairs was a nice bonus. We loved the private wooded lot and of course the hot tub! Overall this was a wonderful experience for us and we hope to return.

We had a wonderful time and will be back! This is our second time staying at Dream Catcher, and we love the property - beautiful house and large open great room, coupled with several lofts and nooks for catching some alone time. Our absolute favorite feature is the large porch and hot tub - perfect for catching the stars on a clear night.

Great house for our group of 7 adults. We took advantage of the hot tubin evenings and loved it. The house was great, excellent common areas for us to hang out in, kitchen was well equipped and functional (really liked the heated floor in early morning), dinning area easily fit all us (but might be crowded for more than 8), wifi worked with no issues, but was a little slow with more than one connection, bedrooms looked great and beds were comfy. Biggest downside was the amount of noise that was easily heard between all rooms, master bathroom was directly below large upstairs room and any noise was easily heard between rooms, same issue with bedrooms above each other or next to each other. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the property gorgeous. Thanks for a great weekend.

The cabin was beautiful and secluded. The windows were gorgeous and the wood walls and fireplace made us feel warm and cozy. The new hot tub was great. However, the cabin needs a serious cleaning. There was dust and cobwebs everywhere. Some dishes were dirty. The linens and towels were tattered and old. The decor in some areas seemed cheap and old. The pots and pans in the kitchen are junk. If you cook here bring your own pans or risk burning your food. The owner left rude notes all over the house that made us feel like we weren't welcome there. One note told us to not go out onto the kitchen deck and threatened to take a security deposit if we opened the door. Another note told us to not burn any candles. Another note told us to not change the temperature on the hot tub. Another note told us to not overuse firewood because it was "free". We paid $1500 to stay here. I wouldn't exactly call the firewood "free". With some cleaning and upgrades and a bit less attitude from the owners, this place would be heaven on earth. Not sure if we would stay again, but it was nice.

An excellent escape from the hectic pace of life in DC. We really wanted our kids to get out of the city and enjoy the beautiful fall folliage. The area more than delivered, with stunning hikes across Dolly Sods and in the Canaan Wildlife refuge. We thoroughly enjoyed communal cooking with our group of 7, hanging out on the large porch of our cabin surrounded by gorgeous trees in full color, and lounging in the hot tub. A truly wonderful fall weekend. We loved this cabin - beautiful setting, well designed, spacious with lovely views. It had everything we could have wanted and more (hot tub, large living room, fireplace, open kitchen, plenty of nooks and cranies to sit, sleep etc.) Our one suggestion for improvement would be that the property seemed to lack grill tools, which would have been helpful. That said, we would rent this cabin again in a heartbeat.

Our family enjoys the peaceful atmosphere of the valley and time to get together to relax. Needs better outdoor furniture and update kitchen pots and pans, need to replace sheets and towels. Current sheets and towels are old and tattered. Accommodates our family well and the pond for our grandchildren to fish. like having washer and dryer. New hot tub was nice.
